Some colour palettes are always on my mind, and I want to do designs using them all the time. This is one of them – muddy, copper, brown, sand, cappuccino, peach, coral, mauve, and more! This palette is so unusual, unconventional and extremely gorgeous. It is my palette.

Melissa was open to all my ideas and suggestions, and gave me the freedom to do whatever I wanted, so I used all my favourite ingredients to create this painterly textural piece – hot cocoa and cappuccino roses, reflected coral tulips, my all-time love, smoke bush, and a good bunch of various carefully dried foliage, with not even a hint of green. Avoiding greenery was essential for me to create a delicate and sensuous look. Though I love using green foliage, for some colour palettes like this one, it’s important to keep it in the right range of tones so as not to ruin the overall look.

This bouquet is so versatile: muted and bright, soft and spiky, fresh and dried, complimented by the hand-dyed silk ribbon in off-white and brown hues, flowing so lovely in the wind.

And then Bloc Memoire did their magic, taking photographs that look like renaissance oil paintings.
